We are continuing to work on our EU Blue Star project. This is the fifth year of our involvement in this great initiative which includes children learning about the geography, history, culture and institutions of European Union. One exciting part of this initiative is a VIP visit as part of Europe Day, which we hold annually.
On Friday May 16th, we held our Europe Day in Four Masters. We were delighted to be joined by Ciaran Mullooly, MEP for Connacht/Ulster, Justin Warnock, Local Councillor for Leitrim County Council and Fr. Keogan, Former Chairperson of the Board of Management , as well as all of the Staff and Students from First to Sixth Class. Students from each class asked Mr. Mullooly a variety of interesting and challenging questions on his work as a Member of the European Parliament and his answers were very informative and interesting. He told us about his work in Brussels and Strasbourg, things he enjoys and challenges that he faces. We also learned about his life prior to entering politics, how he became an MEP and why he enjoys his work. Special thanks to Mrs McSharry for organising this and leading this project.
