North Leitrim /South Donegal cup
Over 200 children participated in the North Leitrim /South Donegal cup this year . In our school there were approximately 40 boys and 30 girls who played in the competition. For a lot of those children it was the first time they had played a game of Gaelic football and we would encourage them to keep playing and developing their skills at their local club! A huge thank you to our Parents association for organising the refreshments and to our referees Roisin Williams and Aidan Ferguson.
The girls had a tough game against Creevy N.S. Creevy got off to a dream start with a few early goals. Our girls grew into the game and were playing really well in the second half to bring the game back to a 1 point game . Creevy scored a goal in the second half and it left our girls with too much to do. The girls were unlucky on the day but there were some serious skills on display from the Four Masters girls and the future looks bright for girls football in Kinlough.
The boys started off fast. We were shooting into the wind for the first half. We went four points up and the Cillian blasted the ball into the top corner to give us a big advantage Bundoran went up the pitch and got a goal of their own. The followed up the goal with a quick point.
We went into halftime 3 points up. After an inspiring speech from Mr Gallagher that got us fired up for the second half. Cillian and Aengus got us off to a good start with two goals the scoreboard was kept ticking over with points from Padraic,Nathan and Jonathon. There were some great saves and kick outs from Matthew. Darragh and Tony put some massive blocks and clearances off the line ,not letting their full forwards get near the ball. When the full time whistle blew we all celebrated and brought the north Leitrim/south Donegal cup to Four Masters. Four masters Abù 🏆 .
